Justin Timberlake sang the \u201cI\u2019m Lovin\u2019 It\u201d Jingle<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Everyone on the planet knows the McDonald\u2019s jingle and has shamelessly hummed it before, but did you know that McDonald\u2019s got a boy-band turned pop sensation to sing it? Yes that\u2019s right, McDonald\u2019s got Justin Timberlake to sing the jingle during a 2003 TV spot <a href=\"https:\/\/pitchfork.com\/thepitch\/1227-the-contentious-tale-of-the-mcdonalds-im-lovin-it-jingle\/\">commercial<\/a>. And JT made some pretty nice bank on singing just three words. There&#8217;s a UFO-inspired McDonald\u2019s<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>This iconic spaceship shaped McDonald&#8217;s in Alconbury, Cambridgeshire, England, was photographed back in 1993. This McDonald\u2019s location was built in 1990, originally intended to become a UFO-shaped restaurant called <a href=\"https:\/\/www.huntspost.co.uk\/news\/22957053.remember-old-megatron-spaceship-restaurant\/\">Megatron<\/a>.&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Their plans changed in <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vintag.es\/2021\/07\/spaceship-mcdonalds.html\">1993<\/a> when it became a McDonald\u2019s instead and was the only UFO shaped McDonald\u2019s location in the world. Its life was only brief because it closed down in 2003 due to high maintenance costs. The building stayed up and in tack, just abandoned for a few years until it was finally demolished in 2008. But, in recent years, former McDonald&#8217;s employees who worked in the flying saucer spot spilled all the hot gossip on what it was really like working in such an odd shaped <a href=\"https:\/\/www.cambridge-news.co.uk\/news\/local-news\/mcdonalds-ufo-spaceship-alconbury-restaurant-19971168\">location<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/lh6.googleusercontent.com\/Wo87M1ubDPVfVoKAOG1GuHasSk8c_9IrxIiigb15gSeOLGvJEjvGlfGxeKEN38uK7U1cC1RJ1dmxFh4GZi9kkKH8DgYcyGoUj6qJPp-TuEft0YhBTMUa1NVP69XUKY3J1mO7H0IjsM2n9bAVsNeLzoSFI4-8W0AssocYxbXxUMFBa0NuNXqXfdXGHOFUJQ\" alt=\"\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>3. Thank you for your service\u2026 and for creating the drive-thrus&nbsp;<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The first McDonald\u2019s drive-thru was built in 1975 in Sierra Vista, Arizona. And everyone has the military to thank for it. The Sierra Vista McDonald\u2019s location was close to a military base. Obviously some of them would swing over to the golden arches to grab some burgers for lunch, but they weren\u2019t allowed to leave their cars wearing their uniforms. So, the restaurant built a drive-thru lane so that they could still <a href=\"https:\/\/www.delish.com\/uk\/food-news\/a30078423\/mcdonalds-facts\/\">serve the soldiers<\/a>, and the soldiers didn&#8217;t violate any military rules.
